ON THE PULSE
IN THE AGE of digital technology and social networking, the name of the game is connect, collaborate and change, with communitybuilding and fostering the connection between the high and the street being the main agenda. Among the few in fashion who are getting the game down to a fine art is our spring/summer 2019 fashion issue’s cover star plus designer of the moment, Kim Jones.
For his debut collection, the newly appointed artistic director of Dior men has revolutionised the slim and minimalist signature of the brand with a totally new look by interpreting the couture origins of the maison with his acutely sharp street-style sensibility, introducing a modern take on heritage atelier craft and sartorial tailoring. Bringing the new blueprint to life is a refreshing palette of bright colours. For the finishing touch of his Summer 2019 collection, Jones collaborated with Matthew Williams of 1017 ALYX 9SM and Yoon Ahn of Ambush. The designer also roped in artist KAWS for the show, resulting in a spectacular debut, sparking joy worldwide.
In keeping with the spirit of the times, our features editor Celeste Goh caught up with the founder of Co-labs Coworking, Benjamin Teo, who spoke passionately about the common ground for a collaborative, flexible, self-directed work style as the future of the workplace. Most of all, we’ve rounded up the key looks of the season in our comprehensive trend report to help you keep your style up to the minute.
Enjoy!
