EMPIRE RISING

Zouk Genting brings hip-hop flavour to the skies with Empire at Reso s World Genting

-

SINCE LANDING ON Malaysian shores from Singapore Zouk, voted the third best club in the world in the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs DJ Ranking, has time and time again reaffirmed their status as the top dog in providing party goers with the most exciting nightlift experience. With the opening of Empire by Zouk at Resorts World Genting however, the brand has quite literally been lifted to new heights.

Staying true to the brand’s identity of providing something for everyone, Empire by Zouk is bound to be the new go-to scene for hip-hop aficionados. Empire by Zouk spans over 5,000 square feet, with every square inch of the hip-hop themed, dual club-lounge decorated in the style of upscale, private lounges in New York. All the stops were pulled in providing guests with the optimum experience, as Zouk Genting even enlisted Malaysian artist Umibaizurah Mahir Ismail in creating exclusive artwork for the walls of the club.

With a client list comprising private collectors, her work is also valued by institutions such as the National Art Gallery Malaysia as well as the Asia Arts Network in Seoul, South Korea. Curated by Singaporean art consultants The Artling, Ismail created five works for Empire by

Zouk, each of which containing playful tongue-in-cheek narratives in the form of the juxtapositions of the old and new with hints of satire. The artwork also goes as far back as to the restroom, where two pieces from Indonesian artist Najzil Layin encapsulate the vibes of the club while also serving as a playful nod to Banksy’s ‘Rage, The Flower Thrower’ piece.

With the tasteful artworks in addition to the Bronx-inspired graffiti and Comptoninfused flows, the atmosphere at Empire by

Zouk is epitomised by the lighting as well as the 20 foot long LED screen behind the DJ console which is sure to take centre stage when international DJs including those from Zouk Singapore, take control of the decks. A thrill to the senses, Empire by Zouk whets the appetite of those anticipating the main club of Zouk, which opened its doors on New Year’s Eve 2018.

Empire by Zouk Genting and the main club are the latest additions to the 40,000 square foot Zouk Atrium at Resorts World Genting, joining the likes of RedTail by Zouk, RedTail Karaoke as well as RedTail BBQ. RedTail by Zouk is the perfect place for pre-drinks before entering the clubs, as well as being the one stop lounge for a good night in itself. Filled with games catered for groups, guests can enjoy games such as Giant Beer Pong, Giant Jenga, fusball as well as a variety of electronic game machines.

Besides that, RedTail Karaoke is for those that like to express themselves musically. Equipped with six rooms, each room is decorated with a different mascot such as Steve the drum-playing gorilla, Eddy the saxophone-playing panda and Joe the breakdancing flamingo. Also staying true to what Zouk is all about, new experiences are also provided with fresh themes such as Reggae, K-pop, EDM, Rock and the Classics being rotated for visitors to explore.

After a night of merriments, it’s

“STAYING TRUE TO THE BRAND’S IDENTITY OF PROVIDING SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE, EMPIRE BY ZOUK IS BOUND TO BE THE NEW GO-TO SCENE FOR HIP-HOP AFICIONADOS”

only responsible for one to end the night at one of the seven hotels spread throughout Resorts World Genting. Able to accommodate various price points as well as preferences, these hotels include Maxims, Crockfords, Genting Grand and of course, the icon that is First World Hotel. AM
