TO MANY OUT there, you could say that it is the end of an era, as the critically acclaimed TV series Game of Thrones begins its concluding final season on April 14. Bidding a fond farewell to the series adaptation of George R.R Martin’s novels, Diageo and HBO have released a limited edition collection of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, inspired by the iconic characters and the creative world of Westeros and beyond.

Joining the White Walker by Johnnie Walker, a limited edition blend inspired by the most enigmatic and feared characters on Game of Thrones, the White Walkers, the Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection features eight scotches, each paired with one of the iconic Houses of Westeros, as well as the Night’s Watch, giving fans an authentic taste of the Seven Kingdoms and beyond.

Available now for pre-order on Stay Thirsty (www.staythirsty.com.my), each bottle carries the distinctive crest of a House of Westeros, with a single malt scotch whisky under the Diageo umbrella that best represents the House: House Stark’s resilience, strength and ability to thrive under the most intense situations come in the form of the Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost, in which the honeyed sweetness and spicy warmth come from one of the highest distilleries in all of Scotland, where it is cold and remote much like The North that House Stark calls home; whereas the Lagavulin 9 Year Old, crafted on the shores of Islay for more than 200 years, mirrors the meticulous calculation and tenacity employed by the Lannister’s in their rise to conquer the Iron Throne.

Other single malt scotch whiskies featured in the collection are: The Singleton Glendullan Select (House Tully), the Cardhu Gold

Reserve (House Targaryen), the Talisker Select Reserve (House Greyjoy), the Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old (House Baratheon), and the Clynelish Reserve (House Tyrell).

Last but definitely not the least, the

Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch

Whisky Collection concludes in the most distinguished fashion with The Night’s Watch bottle in Castle Black, featuring the Oban Bay Reserve with a richness that is balanced with a woody, spicy dryness that The Night’s Watch could enjoy even on the coldest of nights.

The Oban distillery sits beneath the steep cliff that overlooks the bay in the frontier between the west Highlands and the Islands of Scotland, separating land and sea, just as Castle Black, home of the Night’s Watch, sits between Westeros and the lands beyond The Wall. AM
