ALL SET TO be a new and exciting player in the hospitality industry, Ormond Group is looking to shake things up not only with its established properties, but with its new launches as well. Encompassing three unique brands: Tune Hotels, an established hospitality brand in great value stays and the new Ormond Hotels and MoMo’s.

Aspiring to redefine the notion of luxury for the contemporary traveller, Ormond

Hotels is the Ormond Group’s flagship brand. Comprising a collection of thoughtful and innovative boutique design hotels that complement and reflect the local area and culture. The first Ormond Hotels property, The Chow Kit, will open in Kuala Lumpur in 2019.

On the other hand, MoMo’s is the playful cousin in the Ormond family that’s eager to break with tradition and isn’t shy to celebrate creativity. More than just a place to rest your head, the playful hospitality concept is a springboard to your next great city break. Like the aforementioned The Chow Kit, MoMo’s will debut in Kuala Lumpur in 2019 as well.

The Chow Kit - an Ormond Hotel, will boast 113 rooms and suites in the eponymous neighbourhood. Opening on the corner of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, it will be the debut property of home-grown Ormond Group’s namesake boutique brand. The Chow Kit will offer a new, simplified luxury concept with great service,

design and price at its heart. Ormond Hotels define modern luxury as a life lived with comfort, purpose and balance.

In the heart of the lobby will be The Chow Kit Kitchen, a brand-new concept from Christian Bauer and Eddie Chew of Troika

Sky Dining. Expect breakfast classics, pastries and fresh coffee in the morning, Tiffin sets and light bites for lunch before The Chow Kit kitchen transforms into a casual, yet romantic dinner space for sharing plates of reimagined favourites. Inspired by the local ‘kopitiams’, the restaurant will be a democratic space welcoming people from various walks of life.

The Chow Kit is the first Asian project for Brooklyn based design firm, Studio

Tack. Inspired by the cultural heterogeneity and early buildings, The Chow Kit is an opportunity to bring this energy back to Kuala Lumpur with a space that encourages human connection.

MoMo’s, Ormond Group’s new playful hospitality concept, will launch its first property in central Kuala Lumpur within the eclectic Chow Kit neighbourhood this November. Home to 99 guest rooms, MoMo’s will offer a new and exciting hangout in the city, providing a fun and laid-back multidimensional space where visitors and locals can collide in harmony. The playful hotel is also home to MoMosita’s ‒ a fun, gritty, self-serve dive bar serving tacos alongside draft beer and bottled cocktails. Open in the evenings throughout the week, with late night music programming on Fridays and Saturdays, MoMosita’s is ideal for low-key hangouts, where guests and locals get to let loose and mingle.

The lively spirit of MoMo’s is contagious as it urges its guests to connect with fellow guests and locals in the playground, the heart of every MoMo’s hotel. The playground in MoMo’s is a dynamic, ever-evolving space that replaces the traditional lobby and plays host to a constant line up of exciting events, parties and food pop-ups. Designed by Sydney-based Akin Atelier, to feel like an experiential gallery, MoMo’s welcomes everyone in celebrating creativity and spontaneity.
