AUDEMARS PIGUET
Blessed with the automatic in-house calibre 4409 finished to exceptional standards, the [Re]master01 is in essence a modern revival of a rare Audemars Piguet chronograph from 1943. The new edition remains faithful to the original Ref 1533’s aesthetics on a number of levels. This includes a two-tone case, Art Deco numerals, the unique 4/5 indication above the 15-minute mark inside the 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock, and the discontinued Audemars Piguet & Co Genève signature. While the original measured 36mm, this reincarnation is enlarged to 40mm, whose case is a unification of stainless steel and 18k pink gold. Audemars Piguet made only three stainless steel and gold chronograph wristwatches with such design in 1941, which were sold in 1943, of which one had a rose-champagne-coloured dial. With the [Re]master01, the production tops out at 500 pieces.
