VÉRONIQUE NICHANIAN, the artistic director of Hermès has yet again wowed the crowd with its long and youthful lineup. Aiming to encourage people to renew the movement of the world by forming a bridge between both formal and informal styles ̶the models exuding elegance with each step as they walk down the runway.

The 66-year-old artistic director has reunited with French playwright and director Cyril Teste once again for this year’s Winter collection, the duo worked hand-in-hand-̶presenting a digital show at Paris Fashion Week, live from her hometown and favoured location, the City of Lights. As the models wandered around Mobilier National in Paris, some chatted in a crowd while the rest leant against walls as several cameras roamed with them ̶never failing to zoom in on the intricate details of each fashion piece.

From hooded parkas to zipped straight blousons, Nichanian certainly delivered a collection that lives up to the expectation of her idea “the inside versus the outside”. The pieces successfully jived both the sophistication of the graphic signatures, distorted pockets and playful asymmetries. Providing us with an array of luxurious sportswear and uplifted workwear, matched with glossy leather boots and brightly-coloured sneakers ̶the A/W collection featured a seamless fusion between the playful tones of liquorice, pepper, wine red, petroleum blue and many more.

With a few tiny but eye-catching details such as the playful pockets and saddlery stitching, each look presented was as equally impactful as Cyril Teste’s precise choreography and production concept, or as he calls it a “filmic performance”. Though many are not able to watch it in person, the live video was just as astounding as any shows watched in person ̶as expected by the iconic French director.
