Loewe returns with a new collaboration with Paula’s Ibiza
Loewe returns with summer-ready capsule in new collaboration with Paula’s Ibiza
WITH SUMMER INCHING CLOSER, Loewe unveils the latest installment of the Paula’s Ibiza capsule. Shot in Mexico through the lens of the brand’s long-time collaborator Gray Sorrenti, the collection introduces graphic shapes as they are thrown into focus against the colourful urban architecture, glaring sunlight and deep nocturnal shade while featuring a plethora of summer-ready garments and accessories that will have everyone dreaming of a post-pandemic summer getaway.
The Spanish luxury fashion house has been collaborating with the iconic Paula’s Ibiza summer boutique since 2017, where Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of Loewe used to spend his childhood vacations in the shop̶it is said to have been his favourite source of inspiration to represent the brand’s vibes.
With a deconstructed blazer for men and an array of dresses and tops mixed with trousers for women, the theme of a tropical island finds itself in prints of parrots, doves, and crocuses. Not only that, the signature Loewe anagram basket bags are woven in Colombia by female artisans from the Corporación Oficio y Arte NGO̶-an artisanal collective that allows the craftswomen to be financially independent, giving them the ability to educate their children.
“Summer in the city was top of my mind for this collection: the carefree spirit of seaside dressing carried from the beach right into the everyday. I’m after that vibrant zing of sunny Balearic effortlessness, channeled through uncomplicated pieces of clothing and accessories that are as easy to wear as they are craft-led, lit by the touch of the hand,” Jonathan Anderson explains in a press release. He adds, “Summer is heralded as a way of being, not just a season: a mindset that works all year long. A happily energizing one.”
