TALK OF THE TOWN
In a new campaign, Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele has conjured up a version of the late-night Hollywood TV talk show that playfully subverts the format. Titled Beloved Talk Show, the Gucci-fied spectacle features a string of well-known stars including singer songwriter Harry Styles, actress Sienna Miller, professional athlete Serena Williams, actress Awkwafina and many more. Partnering up with photographer and film director Harmony Korine, this campaign highlights the Italian luxury brand’s most legendary pieces ranging from the Dionysus bag, Gucci Horsebit 1955, GG Marmont, and the Jackie 1961. Each muse sits opposite the charming actor and TV host James Corden while each posing with an iconic bag in hand.
“We decided to show the concept of ‘beloved’ in an ironic way in the campaign, being inspired by the fact that bags are the protagonists in my life and in the lives of many other people,” explains Alessandro Michele. “We went back in time to the original TV talk shows, where the protagonist is the bag itself, the big star. It is precisely because they have great personalities that in the industry we gave them these powerful names; and now we have them in a show and reinvented it with the idea that there were two stars: the bag and the actual talent. A game of cross-references between the two great protagonists.” he continues.

THE EYE OF PHOTOGRAPHY
After its previous travel books, Louis Vuitton has added two new books to add to their Fashion Eye series. Featuring around one hundred shots taken by some of the world’s greatest photographers, hence it comes as no surprise that the French luxury fashion house has decided to feature the archives of the British photographer Cecil Beaton and the young Brazilian photographer Alexandre Furcolin, in conjunction to the Rencontres de la Photographie festival in Arles this summer.
Painter, diarist and photographer Cecil Beaton is known for his ability to capture beautiful things, he’s often credited with elevating the idea of photographic portraiture to a fashion art form̶where the world he depicted through his camera lens is one of style and elegance. Fashion Eye Venice by Cecil Beaton offers a glimpse into the magical world he captured, a timeless imagination and the serenity of mid-20th century Venice̶a world that has thrived for centuries in the remarkable environment that is La Serenissima. While Alexandre Furcolin offers a spirited, disobedient, and incandescently sensual look at São Paulo. Having lived in São Paulo since he was seventeen, he highlights the wild and sophisticated city and its nature into dialogue in a vast panorama capturing the beauty and chaos that surround him. Furcolin’s visual work is a sensual, multifaceted diary that welcomes metamorphosis and the beauty of new languages. Here, the São Paulo edition is blessed with a sense of urgency and calm.
