ORGANISE YOUR WORKFLOW

-

As the saying goes: Failure to plan is planning to fail. As working hours tend to blur in a remote working environment, it is imperative that you find ways to keep track of your day. This is the first step in fostering a productive remote working environment. If you can’t get your own house in order, how are you supposed to get your team organised?

The good news is that these days, technology has elevated, tried and tested methods like to-do lists into something even more efficient. Most of these apps are now cloud-based meaning they sync seamlessly to multiple devices and have reminders to preempt you on what comes next. With proper planning, not only are you aware of the tasks you have to complete daily, but you will also be able to plan out your week or month much better if you can see the bigger picture.

TODOIST

Todoist is the tried and tested to-do list taken to the next level. You can colour code your tasks, sort them by projects, set recurring dates, set deadlines, set priority levels, the list goes on. One unique feature of Todoist is that it allows the user to set daily or weekly goals giving you a tangible feeling of accomplishment if these goals are met.

ANY.DO

Any.do is yet another option if you are looking for a comprehensive to-do app. It is cloud-based so it syncs across devices whether you are working from a tablet, laptop or desktop you will be able to access the same list from multiple devices. These lists can also be shared with multiple users.

EVERNOTE

If you’ve ever had the problem of taking notes and ending up with a bunch of jumbled up pieces of paper then this app is for you. Evernote lets you take notes and organise them so everything is right where it needs to be. The app allows you to add images, store pdfs, and even clip out a screenshot of your device and store it as a note. Forever.

Friday is a great app that lets you plan out your work schedule. You can use it to sync with a myriad of apps you already have so that it becomes a hub for all your work planning needs. This is one that most people take for granted, but in this day and age almost everybody has a Google account and with it, Google Calendar. You can use it like a calendar synced across devices but if you really go in-depth there are a myriad of features that can help you separate and organise your events.
