DISTILLED ELEGANCE

Longines collaborates with Hodinkee to redefine the Longines Heritage Classic Sector Dial timepiece

FOR ITS LATEST COLLABORATION with Longines, Hodinkee has tapped into the watch manufacture’s rich heritage and to create a new limited edition of The Longines Heritage Classic Sector Dial, distinguished by its ideal blend of classical proportions and effortless style.

In this updated take, the dial design references the chronometers built by Longines in the 1900s, featuring a two-tone cream dial with a delicate brushed silver finish. The traditional crosshair pattern that divides the dial into four quadrants has been removed, creating a clean aesthetic. And instead of the more traditional Arabic or Roman numerals, painted strokes of black are used for the hour markers, creating a pleasant contrast to the overall coloration of the dial and easy legibility.

The small-second counter at six o’clock is finished with concentric circles, offering a slightly different tone to the sub-dial, setting it apart from the rest of the watch. The heat-blued hands add a touch of colour and contrast, and the beads-of-rice bracelet (and bonus leather strap) provides ultimate comfort and wearability.

Available in a 38.5mm brushed stainless-steel case with a slender profile of just 11mm in height, The Longines Heritage Classic Limited Edition for Hodinkee can be worn comfortably on a variety of wrist sizes. The stepped bezel and long, tapered lugs round out the elegant expression of the watch with a discreet and dignified presence on the wrist that is perfect for daily wear at the office or in a more casual setting.

Each watch in this limited run of 500 pieces is chronometer certified by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres). The Longines Heritage Classic Limited Edition for Hodinkee is powered by the caliber L893.4, exclusively developed for Longines with a silicon balance spring and an ample power reserve of 72 hours.

In celebration of the collaboration, Hodinkee has also brought together a diverse cast of talents and watch connoisseurs, namely author and watch collector John Goldberger, actor Aldis Hodge, watchmaker Briana Le and artist Julie Kraulis, to star in a campaign led by its founder Ben Clymer.

“I discovered Longines in the middle of the ’80s. They were a very technical brand, especially between the 1930s and ’50s. For me, they are one of the most advanced historical brands.”
