ANTI-CREASE MAGIC

Over the years, garment steamers seem to have gained popularity thanks to their ability to smoothen out creases without risk of damaging clothes. Among the sundry steamers on the market (and we have had the opportunity to experience a number of them), we like the latest Stockholm Cirrus No.2 Handheld Steamer from Steamery that launched this year.

Encased in a minimalistic and lavish box lies the sleek device. In anticipation of busy sweaty palms, the ergonomically designed device features a rubberised handle. Not only does it offer a firmer grip, the curved silhouette moulds comfortably into my hands. What is surprising is how fast the water boiled; It started emitting hot steam almost immediately and was ready for use.

Creases are eradicated easily by the hot steam and will work on most materials except leather, suede and silk, unless you are going for a distressed look rather than an immaculate finish. While it requires more than two passes to straighten out wrinkles, the overall application is quite effortless. A bonus is that shallow dirt also vanish in the bargain almost like dry-cleaning.
