IN KEEPING WITH TRADITION, we dedicate our March issue to the celebration of International Women’s Day. Though we have previously spotlighted women of different walks of life making a difference on their own terms, from business to art, in recognition of their achievements and independence, this year we have reached out to a group of fellow gentlemen who are actively doing their part in supporting women empowerment and integrity, in hopes of inspiring other men to do the same in their own way. As our writer puts it, “After all, we can’t have a conversation about progress without half of the population, and the best way for change is to include all of us in the equation.”

Speaking of empowerment, we had the pleasure of discovering said quality, and much more, in our latest cover star and face of Onitsuka Tiger, Hael Husaini. Speaking with the singer/songwriter reveals that despite his humble beginnings, slight frame, early criticisms and elimination from One in a Million, Hael has gracefully embraced humility and successfully powered on to the top with indomitable drive and self-belief, from coming out second place on Akademi Fantasia to winning four consecutive Anugerah Juara Lagu awards. With a following of 1.8 million on social media, Hael continues to challenge conventional notions and develop his own distinctive style.
