BREITLING CELEBRATES 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF NAVITIMER

-

2022 marks the 70th anniversary of the legendary Navitimer, and Breitling commemorated this significant milestone with a never-before inflight experience between Zurich and Geneva back in March. Since then, the Navitimer campaign #ForTheJourney has taken over the world by storm with the year-long celebration recently landing in Malaysia at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in the form of a pop-up.

First designed as a flight tool in 1952, the Navitimer was an innovation that helped to calculate all the necessary flight calculations such as the average speed, distance travelled, and fuel consumption. Visitors to the week-long pop-up were able to journey through the historical evolution of the Navitimer and view both exclusive museum pieces and the 2022 novelties.

Blending Breitling’s modern aesthetics and values with its historic watchmaking savoir-faire, the new Navitimer focuses on colour, styling and inclusive appeal, becoming a symbol for those plo ing their journey through life. This was highlighted at the KL celebration by models dressed in various aviation-inspired ou its stru ing down the iconic Spanish Steps of the mall towards the Breitling pop-up, each spo ing a 2022 Navitimer on their wrist.

Hosted by the president of Breitling Asia Alvin Soon, guests were treated to a surprise pe ormance by Malaysian sweethea , Atilia Haron, who had the crowd swaying to tunes from the 1950s to the latest pop hits as they engaged in the activities for the night. From a customised tote bag stamping station, to having their po raits drawn by talented a isans and even a nostalgic polaroid photo oppo unity, guests were thoroughly ente ained and brought home many memorable keepsakes. Inspired by the legendary timepiece, single malt whiskey pa ner Glenrothes concocted two special cocktails, namely 1952 and Navitimer, for the occasion.
