THE MYTH OF NARCISSUS

-

After debuting its Othertopias collection last summer, Aēsop now adds another unisex fragrance to the mix. Made in collaboration with long-term partner Barnabé Fillion, the scent is inspired by the myth of Narcissus, a hunter from Thespiae who was known for his beauty who rejected all romantic advances and ended up falling in love with his own reflection, staring at his mirror images n a pool of water for the rest of his life. Eidesis honours the imaginary worlds beyond the surface of the mirror̶fusing floral notes redolent of the pool or looking glass, with an earthy, woody base of vetiver, sandalwood and cedar.

“A smell, whether in the air, on our skin, or on our clothes, creates a world within our world that is both physical and imagined,” said Fillion. “A window into nature, so to speak, one that invites a dialogue with surroundings that we inhabit but often overlook.” he continued.

Like the collection’s existing fragrances, Eidesis is designed for those seeking complex and unique aromas that know no gender boundaries. These are fragrances that invite a dialogue with nature, challenge our perceptions and unlock reverie.
