C’s latest collaboration with New York- based streetwear brand Ni co panda has us ina state of euphoric excitement( yes, that excited) thanks to its super cute panda packaging and experimental colour comb os( peep the two-tone falsies !). Adorable compact saside, M.A. Cx Nico panda champions diversity and creativity without sacrificing fun and playfulness, explains Nicopanda’s founder Nicola Formic hetti. He tells# TeamCLEO about working with M. A. C, Asian influence sand why it’ s all about the panda.
What was your i nspiration f or t his collection?
I’ m half Asian and half European, so it was important tome that this collection delivered a little bit of East and a little West. Ultimately, the panda plays a big part. I originally created t his character to represent a symbol of creativity and diversity. It was very important to bring the panda into t he design and creative process.
What was t he concept behind t he products and packaging?
For the packaging, we wanted this to show polar opposite colours t hat worked together, just like a panda. With t he actual products, I wanted to create something that could go from day tonight. Something fun and funky for anyone who wants to take their makeup to the next level, but will also work for someone who wears minimal make- up. What is your favourite product in the collection? Does it remind you or is it connected to any of your past designs? I was so impressed with the face adornments. The lipstick in Galactic Mint also exceeded my expectations. It definitely is linked back to my designs because it’ s soon par with my vibe. There is this strong Asian influence and there is something futuristic about the lineup that also feels very modern.
