Stuck on your colourways? Just look to Pantone’s Colour of the Year
So long Millennial Pink and Gen-Z Yellow ( and no shade, but Ultra Violet, you never really took off ), it’ s time for a new hue to take over your In sta feeds. Pan tone announced Living Coral as 2019’ s Colour Of The Year, describing it as“a life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone”. Living Coral is definitely the perfect colour to rebel against some of the dreary news that fill our world( orangutan numbers dwindling? Trump tweeted what again ?). In a time where DMs are practically our main form of communication, Living Coral feels welcoming but not cloying, optimistic without being overwhelming, and as Pan tone themselves put it, “human is in ga nd heartening ”. Much-needed inaner a where we’ re always rising against patriarchy, racism and everything else in between. The colour also brings focus to our precious coral reefs which are currently under threat due to factors such as over fishing and pollution. According to Coral Reef Alliance, scientists predict all coral reefs will be threatened by 2050, but you can help( checkout Reef Check Malaysia and WWF to find out how ). On a beautiful note, this announcement means great news for make- up l overs! While bold pinks and warm hues were constantly tr ending in 2018, coral has always stood the test of time. It’ s a flattering, reliable colour that easily brings life to the complexion and looks dreamy as awash of eyeshadow. Need ins po?
