ISLAND EXPLORATION GALORE
Attracting approximately 1,200 participants from more than 20 countries, this was RHB’S first ride on the island, branching out after several years of successfully organising the nighttime highway event – RHB Shimano Lekas Ride. RHB Langkawi Ride 2019 featured three different routes to suit different levels of cyclists, namely the 100km Eagle Ride, the 70km Heritage Ride and the 25km Adventure Ride. The routes featured a mixture of Langkawi’s legendary heritage sites, flat open vistas, challenging gradients and fast track descents, giving participants ample opportunity to test their endurance while enjoying the scenic view of mountain ranges, lush greenery and the majestic seafront. There’s still no word on whether this will be an annual event added to Malaysia’s cycling calendar, but judging by the response we’re fairly certain many are hoping it will be.
