Tatler Dining Malaysia

WHY GO

-

Unwind to the magnificent view of the Andaman sea in a relaxed, traditional Malaysian home-inspired setting serving up delectable local favourites by professional staff.

Guests are feted to a veritable introduction to South East Asian cooking here and it shows with the signature Sulaiman Rasa platter. Consisting of prawn fritters accompanied by sweet chilli sauce, spring rolls and chicken satay, the quality of the dish is decent and tasty.

The main course of tulang rusuk panggang (beef ribs) may be slightly overdone on our visit but goes very well when taken with the accompanying oyster sauce seasoned vegetables and nasi minyak (oiled rice). A specialty of the restaurant, the rice comes with a medley of herbs and spices, essentially making it a briyani. It’s cooked with ghee, so it tends to the rich side of flavour but makes for an appetising base for the meal, on top of being delicious even on its own.
