The comfy interiors of this all-day dining establishment offer a good respite for city dwellers to sample a wide variety of Asian cuisine in.

A winning start comes in the form of raja satay, as the classic chicken and beef combo skewers taste authentic and delicious with its peanut sauce mirroring those found at good satay joints. A hearty medley of spices and flavours burst forth from the sup ekor berempah, with tender chunks of oxtail and fried shallots swimming in a robust broth.

Cantonese noodles, a common dish in KL, and steamed black cod served with rice resemble the main dishes we sampled on this visit. The fish is cooked well as the meat is fresh, flaky and tender. The noodle dish could be better as it is lacking in ‘wok hei’ – the ‘breath of the wok’ required in Chinese stir-fries to make it work.

A decent way to end the meal is with the flourless chocolate cake – it tastes good and offers something different from traditional flour-made cakes. Of note is the crowd favourite weekend buffet that the restaurant offers, which has a great array of food spanning many different cuisines.
