Tatler Dining Malaysia

WHY GO

-

Luscious views of the city, posh interiors and haute Japanese cuisine meet and greet diners of Nobu, making it one of the most sought-after fine dining restaurants in town.

First timers would do well with Nobu’s signature omakase course, starring the chef’s personal selection of dishes. A starter of toro tartar gets the appetite going, while the follow up of tuna sashimi salad further whets it with its generous servings of perfectly seared tuna.

The black cod with miso is deliciously umami with its lovely thick miso coating an almost too tenderly cooked cod. Balance the miso’s sweetness to your liking with the side of yuzu sauce and young ginger. The Angus beef, while cooked perfectly, is a cut that is leaner than we would have liked, though the accompanying sauces are interesting, particularly the truffle miso sauce.

On top of the omakase, do try the amazing crispy rice skewers with spicy tuna that taste like an Asian version of hash browns, sporting equal amounts of chew and crisp. Also, the yellowtail sashimi jalapeno is a signature dish across the Nobu franchise for a reason – the tender, fresh morsels are simply divine.
