A VERY KLOSSY CHRISTMAS Karlie Kloss shines as the star of Swarovski’s Christmas campaign – so it's a good thing she loves the holiday season
Christy Turlington is both an incredible friend and mentor to me. She redefined what it means to be a supermodel, and showed me that it was possible to have a successful fashion career while also pursuing my other passions. My mum and Gram have also always been my two biggest heroes and role models. My Gram was the matriarch of my family and one of the strongest women I’ve ever known. My mum raised three girls, beat stage four breast cancer, and had a successful career. These are just some of the brilliant women in my life. I always say yes to a challenge. Right now, I’m training for my first marathon, which has been an awesome challenge, both physically and mentally. Nothing compares to the strength and self-confidence that come from accomplishing something you never thought you could do. We’re all brilliant in our own way; we all harbour brilliance within us, and this campaign is about celebrating that individual strength and uniqueness. Every year, I go back home to St. Louis for a lot of celebrating, baking, and eating with my family and close friends. I adore sweater weather, so for casual days I’ll pair a comfy sweater with leather leggings or jeans and a mix of gold and silver rings and bracelets. For holiday parties, I love wearing a simple silk slip dress with a crystal statement choker and Swarovski’s vittore rings. They’re the perfect accessory for stacking and adding some subtle shine. My favourite holiday tradition is spending hours in the kitchen cooking and baking with my mum, sisters, cousins and Gram. Some of my earliest and most precious memories come from this time, which makes it so special to be able to continue the tradition with the younger generations of my family. I want to keep evolving as an entrepreneur and business leader. I’m really focused on building my coding initiative, Kode With Klossy. We have big plans for growth and expansion to accomplish next year. I’m excited to see what 2018 holds!
