Dear Ex­pa­tri­ate Life­style, Thank you so much for the fea­ture on Malaysian kuih that you did this is­sue. I’ve been won­der­ing what all the dif­fer­ent types of cakes that I see at the mar­ket stalls were, but I didn’t dare try them be­cause I had no idea what they would taste like and no way of fig­ur­ing out how to search for them be­sides typ­ing in ‘gluti­nous rice cake’ in Google, which could fit about a hun­dred dif­fer­ent op­tions.

Many of these kuih seem to use palm sugar, which I love. The next time I go to the mar­ket, I’m go­ing to ask them for on­deh-on­deh. Beatrice Dawson
