Newcomer to the fashion scene, Ivan Li’s concept of using Ultraviolet (2018’s Pantone colour of the year) and holographic elements were heavily inspired by his childhood back in the ’80s. Television and soap bubbles are said to be his source of inspiration and from there, he used the ‘No Signal’ static and colours in creating a holographic effect. The sewed-on, triple-sleeve roll effect became his feature detail on a timeless yet modern silhouette to achieve that rugged yet polished look. Additionally, his designs utilise the ’70s flare and denim get-up of the glorious ’90s era. How groovy!
