READ MY LIPS

THERE ARE YOUR REGULAR EVERYDAY LIP PRODUCTS AND THEN THERE ARE THESE NEW INVENTIONS THAT MAKE PUTTING YOUR LIPSTICK ON THAT MUCH MORE INTERESTING!

Female (Malaysia) - - BEAUTY PICKS -

“The original Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored, a bright universal red, made waves when it first launched due to its high-impact colour pay-off, low-maintenance wear and precise wand application (and TBH, Rihanna just slays at anything she does and we always want in on it) so we were left wondering if she’d ever launch more. Alas, the day has arrived and now there are four new shades to play with! Since I’m taking this year to try new looks, I’ve picked the shade Uninvited, a show-stopping smooth black that looks really intimidating at first swipe. However, despite it being such a rich colour, I love that it hardly transfers or bleeds so I can maintain my badass persona all day long. Essential tip: make sure you scrub your lips before applying this on as the dark colour will enhance dry and cracked areas.”

“As with many beauty trends, lip powders started from South Korea too. Looking just like eyeshadows, these deliver high-impact colour when reacting with the natural oils on your lips and transform into a matte finish with a slight metallic sheen. You may be wondering if powder would feel weird on your puckers but trust me, its velvety texture is weightless and feels so comfy, you won’t even remember having anything on! Plus, the pan comes with a moisturising base balm on the right to prep your lips with. What’s fun about this is that you can choose to use a single colour on its own or layer all three for a custom finish!”

2 LAURA MERCIER VELOUR LIP POWDER IN NEW YORK , RM119

“As many women would agree, you can never have too many lip balms. Personally, I've got one that I use at home, one for the office, another at my in-laws' and a different one at my parents’! Now, this one’s rather unique – it gives you the same conditioning pay-off as any good lip balm would, but the centre of the bullet contains a black balm in the shape of a heart that has a special formula to enhance your lip shape. Packed with natural peppermint oil that feels cool on the lips, caprilyl glycol to stimulate them and make them look fuller, and black pearl powder to elevate shine, you’ll see a more voluminous pout instantly. If you’ve always relied on tingly lip enhancers, it’s time to say bye to ’em!”

3 YSL BEAUTY VOLUPTÉ PLUMP-IN-COLOUR IN NO. 6 LUNATIC RED, RM148.50

I’ve tried some of the best lipsticks out there but 2019 brings the hope of better lip products and I’ve found my three favourites so far. Here’s wishing for more lip goodies this year!
