Golf Digest (Malaysia) - - The Golf Life -

On the first day, we were introduced to Cascata Golf Club where the Bridgestone Amateur Open 2017 final will be held. The 36-hole golf course was built and designed by the owner in 2006. The course adopts a rather flat and links-style characteristic.

The course is relatively flat and open with significant bunkering and an abundance of water on most holes. This is well compensated with the generous fairways and straight forward design.

The plus point were the fast greens which proved challenging due to severe undulations. Three-putting can be quite common for the average golfer here.

One of my favourite holes was the dog leg par-5, 6th hole with a great view and interesting layout that requires sound course management. Hole 3 is an island par-3 which can be quite challenging.

Overall, Cascata was fun to play on and is well-suited for Bangkok bound golfers who are looking for an easy round of golf in a natural park-like surrounding with clean air.

Fees: THB3,850 for 18 holes (green, buggy and caddy fees).
