Eight years in the making, Constance adds a new destination to its collection.
Off the coast of Tanzania, Pemba is a small island located in the Zanzibar Archipelago, untouched by tourism and home to several pristine dive sites. Known as “The Green Island” for its fertility and produce such as rice, coconut and cloves farmed by the locals – which are mainly a mix of Arab and the aboriginal Washahili people.
The eighth addition to the Constance family of properties, Constance Aiyana opened its doors on Pemba island at the start of the year.
Aiyana consists of 30 beachfront villas decked out in minimalist luxury décor. Aligned with the ecological approach of Constance Hotels & Resorts, Aiyana was built with locally sourced materials such as limestone and aggregates.
Guests can pamper themselves at the U Spa by Constance, choosing from a range of massages and treatments, or relax at the resort’s very own shisha lounge. For the more adventurous, Pemba Island is surrounded by phenomal dive sites with healthy, untouched coral reefs as well as a crystal clear water drop-off, mostly suitable for divers of all levels.
“Constance Aiyana establishes our presence in the region and clearly positions us as the reference for luxury hotels in the Indian Ocean. This new jewel also allows us to enrich our offer to reach new markets and customers looking for an extraordinary experience,” highlights Jean-jacques Vallet, CEO of Constance Hotels & Resorts.
Aiyana adds to the collection of hotels and resorts managed by Constance Hotels & Resorts in Mauritius, Maldives, Seychelles, Madagascar and now Zanibar; all located in the Indian Ocean.
Aside from its luxurious destinations and tailor made services, Constance Hotels & Resorts also has three award-winning golf courses across two properties; Constance Belle Mare Plage in Maurities and Constance Lemuria in Seychelles with the most wellknown being Belle Mare Plage’s Legend course.
Since 2009, The MCB Tour Championship has been held in December at the Belle Mare Plage as the final event of the European Senior Tour, making it a member of the exclusive European Tour Properties.
Located on the Northern tip of Pemba island, Constance Aiyana is accessible by a thirty-minute flight from Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
