Another artisan from the Titleist workshop is Scotty Cameron. A name synonymous with the art of putting, this next generation of Scotty Cameron Select putters introduces a new four-way sole balancing technology engineered for performance at the elite level, maintaining its precision milling and elegant design.

The 2018 Select models improved on the proven multi-material construction methodology of combining face inlays of either 303 stainless steel or 6061 aircraftgrade aluminium with stainless steel bodies for balance, weight distribution, sound and feel that is desired by a majority of golfers.

The new Scotty Cameron Select line proposes seven modern blade and mid-mallet models. Returning are the timeless Newport and Newport 2 while the popular Fastback keeps its position in the mid-mallet offerings. An addition to the already star-studded line up is the remodelled Select Laguna, a modern take on a classic design.

To preserve visual appeal, contours and sight cues were refined to enhance alignment issues. The research and development team focused on thinning top-line appearances by giving each a slightly rounder radius. Plumbing neck dimensions, edges and angles have been squared up for a cleaner look from address.

For audiophiles, the improved sound and feel are the result of more vibration dampening material connecting

face inlays with putter bodies. The connecting screws are slightly larger to account for the increased material and the surface compression necessary to produce the feedback demanded by the players to aid in distance control and diagnosing mishits.

A new addition to the series is the four-way balanced sole design, which results in better setup and alignment during address. The balance point of each putter’s sole has been shifted forward to account for the weight of the shaft and grip during impact. This results in a putter that sits perfectly square at address for easier alignment on any lie.

The Select Newport, Newport 2, Newport 2.5 and Laguna models are modern heel-and-toe weighted blades designed to support arc putting strokes for player preferred setups.

Each model features a sole-to-topline 303 stainless steel inlay that is precision mid-milled and hand-buffed for a metallic finish, then bonded to the stainless steel body using up to 30 percent more vibration dampening material than previous models. This fusion of materials provides golfers with ultra-responsive feel and feedback at impact.

The Select Newport 3 is a heel-shafted mid-mallet, based on the classic Newport head shape, designed with a flow neck. Multi-material technology featuring lightweight 6061 aluminium face inlay is fused to the precision-milled 303 stainless steel body that distributes weight for higher MOI, which results in more stable putting strokes.

For mallet users, the Select Fastback and Squareback combine the same 6061 aluminium inlays with Scotty’s wrap-around face-sole technology. This construction concentrates weight on the perimeter to produce higher moment of inertia and stability for straight-back, straightthrough putting style.

With Scotty Cameron, there’s something for everyone.
