JAY MENON CIEPLIK, 33, AND STEPHAN CIEPLIK, 32

-

How did you know it was love? JM: It is effortless being with Stephan. Everything is easy and fun, even in difficult times he makes it seem like there is nothing we can’t achieve together as a team. I knew I had fallen in love when I identified the mornings and evenings spending time with Stephan as the best parts of my day. What do you love most about Jay? SC: First off, she is my best friend; I can do everything with her. Very modern and independent, she has great determination to succeed. This inspires me. And I know she’ll be the best mother to our children. How did he propose? JM: We had spent the whole day with my folks and he asked for my hand from my father on the sly. When I got to his place he had decorated the house with candles and a few choice words on the floor leading to where he was standing with a bottle of champagne and the ring. I was bawling my eyes out even before he asked!

They just tied the knot, but this stunning TV host and her German husband, who is the Asia regional manager at Manchester City FC, are proof that love knows

no boundaries.

Wedding theme? JM: The earlier traditional wedding was pretty straightforward. For the reception there wasn’t a theme; we wanted a wedding party and for everyone to have fun and let loose. We had an intimate do for just 120 friends and family; everyone had a blast! What did you find most exciting? SC: My parents, my sister’s family, and my close friends were all thrilled about the Indian ceremony and rituals. I was excited to see my future wife walking into the temple like an angel. Most memorable moment? JM: Walking into the temple towards my husband; he was smiling happily and I couldn’t contain my joy. It all felt right. Also, he looked so handsome in his Indian suit! The best thing about a cross-cultural marriage? JM: That everyone was patient and more tolerant of things that were totally foreign to them! My in-laws thoroughly enjoyed the process; my family learned a lot about Indian custom as this was the first marriage for us. All in all it made for a very colourful family portrait. What ring did you get for Jay? SC: I chose a classic engagement diamond ring first and then a wedding band, to be worn together. The wedding band is very elegant, silver with one third of its round filled with small diamonds. With Jay’s bright smile and sparkling eyes, it was clear to me the rings had to be in silver with diamonds. Tell us about the honeymoon. SC: We had an amazing three-week honeymoon in Europe, visiting my hometown near Hannover, then Munich, Amsterdam, London, Oxford, and Warsaw.
