WORK APPOINTMENTS
One of the best aspects of my job is finding new international talent to feature. I have the chance to see the latest collections from Patrícia Viera and Isolda when I go to Brazil, and from Josh Goot when I’m in Australia.
WEEKEND EXCURSIONS
Back home in New York, I take road trips upstate with my husband. We stop at little towns in the Hudson Valley. We love to explore and shop for vintage items. I can’t wait to wear my Stella Jean sundresses and Christopher Kane pieces. I’m also obsessed with the Fritz wooden sunglasses I found.
CHIC SHOPPING
When I go to Australia, I stop by Bassike, which carries my favourite pants: A drop-crotch skinny jean. In Brazil, I explore the vintage stores. I found so much beautiful jewellery the last time I was there. Every trip to Paris I make sure there’s time, even if it’s just an hour, to visit the Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen. I recently rediscovered one of my favourite artists, Dominique Dubien, there. I need more pieces from him.
DELIGHTFUL MEALS
A highlight in Brazil is dinner with my favourite Brazilians: The Isolda sisters, Alessandra and Juliana Affonso Ferreira. In Paris, I have a great power lunch with jeweller Tom Binns and his CEO, Cristina Viera Newton, Erin Dean from Equipment, designer Patrícia Viera, and Ramya Giangola from Gogoluxe. Whenever I’m in Paris I have dinner with my editor friends at Ferdi; I always book at least three reservations a month before travelling. In Sydney, I never leave without going to Bill’s. They have the best breakfast ever! In São Paulo, Spot is the place to be. Aptly named, it has a cool atmosphere – and a very handsome waitstaff. In Brazil, I look forward to eating fresh hearts of palm. They’re like candy – you even can find them in the hotel minibar!
CULTURAL MUSTS
Galeria Fortes Vilaça in São Paulo has the best avant-garde art scene. It will always have something crazy and inspirational.
RELAXATION
In Sydney, I like Icebergs on Bondi Beach. It’s a swimming club where you can get a relaxing massage right on the beach. Icebergs, Bondi Beach, Australia
