1833 The Manufacture is founded by Antoine LeCoultre. 1910 LeCoultre and Jaeger play an important role in the development of wristwatches. 1931 The brand responds to British officers playing polo in India with the creation of the Reverso. 1936 The backs of Reverso watches are personalised with engravings or enamelling. 1937 Horology enthusiasts celebrate the official birth of the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand. 1984 The Reverso case gets a complete makeover making it one of the most complicated cases in watchmaking. 1993 To watch enthusiasts’ delight, the Reverso acquires a tourbillion as a new feature. 2000 A perpetual calendar is added onto the Reverso. 2001 Start of the platinum trilogy. The Reverso Platinum Number One is unveiled, an ultra thin skeletonised calibre. 2002 Celebrating its 70th birthday, the Reverso anniversary model, an 8-day double barrel opens the Grande Reverso chapter. 2006 The creation of the three dials watch, Reverso grande complication a triptyque, breaks new grounds. 2006 The Reverso gets a sporty makeover in Reverso Squadra. 2008 For the first time, a wristwatch runs on cylindrical hairspin with the first being Reverso Gyrotourbilon 2. 2011 80 years on, the Reverso honours its Art Deco origins with the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin including two versions of its Tribute to 1931. 2014 A chocolate-toned version of the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 is revealed.
