ay howdy to the new collection from Guess Kids, which draws heavily from Western-inspired styles. The key player in this collection is denim, a given as that’s what the all-American brand is really known for. With various washes and fits, pair your little one’s denim of choice with chambray tops and cardigans or ruffled floral-print dresses for the girls, while the boys have a selection of graphic print tees and cool plaid shirts to choose from.
Shot by photographer Rus Anson and directed by Paul Marciano, creative director for Guess Inc, the Western vibe rides high in the Guess Kids Autumn/ Winter ’14 campaign, which sees kids playing under a teepee or lounging under the sun, surrounded by cacti and lush greenery. Attitude in the girls’g collection comes from subtle punk elements including chain and stud details, while leopard print – a Guess staple – also makes an appeara appearance alongside Dalmatian and poodle prints. Meanwhile, the HolidayHo collection sees tactile fabrics such as French terry and fuzzy knits matched with lurex shantung and sequins to ensure the spotlight is on her at all parties.
Edgy, rock ’n’ roll looks are the buzzwords for the boys, with tie-dye stripes and plaid, accented with foil treatments on denim and a novelty spray wash technique that lends a unique look to everyday denim.
