Style is something only a few can define with a fresh sense of elegance. Fatimah Puteh, or Tym Fatimah, as she is affectionately known, experimented and developed her own sartorial signature from a very young age, with her mother’s clothes. “I had tonnes of fabulous fun dressing up with my older sisters whenever they were heading out, and as I went along, they began leaning on me for style advice,” says the 34-year-old stylist, advisor, and creative director for LyndaRahim’s ready-to-wear collection, whose deep-seated passion for fashion clearly shows in her original andro-femme sense of style. This worldly fashionista works with an array of Malaysian designers, creates fashion spreads for magazines, and styles for music videos and local celebrities. However, even with such exposure, Tym’s fierce dressing actually stems from her introverted personality. Clad in a black fringed top and flare pants, accessorised with a metallic choker and a set of cuffs that are Wonder Woman-worthy, Tym explains that each look she throws on speaks volumes about her. An artist has his paint brush and Tym has her extraordinary wardrobe of treasures. “They are great ice breakers in a room full of strangers,” explains Tym about how each look works as an extension of the woman she is.
