Plastic—the season’s hautest trend to go against the elements. But forget a raincoat; instead, do ’90s swag with pellucid bucket hats, statement glass pearls, and prismatic fringing.

Channel your inner Little Mermaid with delicate jewellery adorned with seashells and corals. Ever since Miuccia Prada brought these ocean beauties back to the runway last Autumn/Winter ’17, gilded starfishes and precious pearls have been redone to the extremes, like at Versace and Sonia Rykiel.

Call it the Bali effect: wicker bags have gone fever pitch, thanks to artisanal street peddlers. This season sees these rattan-bamboo arm candies transformed into chic picnic baskets. See: Prada, California-based Kayu, and newcomer Ulla Johnson.
4 THE MODERN MUSE LAUREN HUTTON
No one does safari-chic quite like Lauren Hutton. Channel her carefree spirit with muted khakis, crisp button-downs, and easy, breezy linens.

Not for the faint of heart, this season’s unspoken MVPs of monotonal dressing are the pinks and reds. At Hermès, light beach-ready shirts were paired with flowing palazzo trousers, while Stuart Vevers gave these hues a punk twist at Coach 1941.
6 THE FLORAL NOTE
Elevate romantic florals with a fire-cracking twist; Malibu Barbie, with an edge. Your go-tos? Saint Laurent, Max Mara, and Diane Von Furstenberg. Extra brownie points when paired with kinky boots.
