The A-List
Shoe designer Nelissa Hilman Cheow on her must-haves and dos this season.
1 I found this book at a quaint secondhand bookstore as I was strolling on the outskirts of Florence. It is now one of my favourite reads. 2 I love Italy as a travel destination. The must-see attraction in Capri is the magical Blue Grotto. Visitors can take a boat ride through a natural cavern filled with an ethereal and eerie light reflecting on the crystal blue waters—absolutely breathtaking! 3 If there is one person who knows what women want to wear, it would be Victoria Beckham. Each of her designs are cut and sewn to look beautiful from all angles and to flatter. Most of all, they look and feel comfortable. 4 This season, I’m trying pantsuits with interesting cuts and fabrics. Tibi’s razorsharp wool plaid blazer makes a perfect layering piece to elevate any look. 5 I suffered from dry, chapped lips postpregnancy. Despite having tried different lip balms, Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask is still one of the most effective remedies that leave my lips supple and hydrated. 6 When it comes to my personal style, comfort is key. These ultra-relaxed trousers make a perfect base for low-key day dressing. 7 If I had to choose one item that I must get my hands on this season, it would be the Dior Saddle bag. A handbag with a rugged demeanour, it’s perfect to incorporate in day-today ensembles. 8 This pair of gold-tone earrings by Ellery is minimalist in design and perfectly timeless. It’s just the right touch of glamour. 9 The Olay Regenerist whipped moisturiser is light and breathable, and gives skin plenty of moisture but won’t leave combination- or oily-type skin shiny. 10 Dior’s J’adore EDP is my fragrance of choice. It is sensual without being too heavy, floral yet mysterious. 11 I love United Nude and its interpretation of shoes as architectural objects, so moving in its colours and materials. @nelissahilman_
