FALL UPDATES
From sophisticated shades to bold new hair looks, here are six new trends to try this season.
SHINE ON
Softer and more ethereal than last season’s yellowgold highlighters, rosegold make-up brings a warm glow to every skin tone. Choose a shimmering (never glittery) finish. Wear it with: Minimal jewellery and neutral hues, to keep the focus on radiant skin.
GO LONG
Consider growing out your lob. Kérastase Paris’s new Résistance line promotes strength and reduces breakage throughout the process (translation: fewer trims). The brand even offers an in-salon pro treatment to help hair reach its full potential. Wear it with: An open back. The effect is totally striking.
GET RETRO
One way to get in on the ’90s nostalgia moment? Pull your hair back with sparkly bobby pins, a giant claw clip, or a plastic accordion headband to give any outfit a hit of cool. Wear it with: Understated basics—these throwback accessories are statement pieces on their own.
RETHINK RED
A cherry red lip is hardly revolutionary, except when lined with gold—it catches the eyes without trying too hard. Use a gold liner or just a dab of highlighter. Wear it with: Matte or satin-finish foundation, to avoid shine overload.
MASTER LASHES
Over-the-top extensions feel tired. In their place: a pretty, more naturallooking effect. Get the look with a double-thickening mascara layered over a base formula. Wear it with: A well-groomed brow, which can help lift and brighten the overall eye area.
FAKE FRINGE
Create the illusion of bangs. Simply tuck hair behind the ears and pull the front sections forward, or side-part hair and sweep the front across the forehead. Wear it with: Bobby pins and hairspray to keep it all in place.
