What is the story of the Bowerhaus pink ribbon? Shen-Tel Lee: An enamel brooch with the signature pink colour. The 36 lines represent 36 years of the pink ribbon evolution for breast cancer awareness since 1982, which is coincidentally the year of my birth. The pearl is my birthstone. What does the pearl signify? Elizabeth Lee Yong: At the centre of our brooch we chose to have a freshwater pearl to symbolise the glowing lustre of survivors, carers, and families who have been touched by the disease.
