LOUIS VUITTON
Shaking up the Vuitton codes this season, Nicolas Ghesquière took his time-travelling biker chick on an artistic discovery. Set at the picturesque Marguerite and Aimé Maeght Foundation, free-form ’80s silhouettes went head to head with Napoleonic tailoring—see: the cinched-in blazer on American model Sara Grace Wallerstedt—while dramatic Louis XIV frills brought a romantic touch to knee-high Archlight boots. There were also hints of Joan Míro-like prints on breezy pyjama shorts and metallic bolero jackets—a nod to the show space’s labyrinth of Míro sculptures. But here’s a little curiousity for all the eccentrics out there: In a collaboration with famed stylist Grace Coddington, the collection’s accessories took on the visionary’s love of felines, as featured on the maison’s iconic Speedy—a definite catnip for the season to come.
