ANGIE LAI-TAY

36, CO-FOUNDER OF ALT AND THAVIA

- Shirt; and blazer, both from Bottega Veneta. Headdress, Bremen Wong Millinery. Rings, Bvlgari.

You can almost spot Angie from a mile away, thanks to her modern edge, which almost always consists of glistening rings from her fair trade jewellery brand ALT adorning every finger. A cross between Jimi Hendrix and Bianca Jagger, she lets her selfdesigned accessories do the talking while her sleek, minimalist ensembles complement her rock ’n’ roll attitude. “I was made to ‘eat’ jewellery for the BAZAAR movie,” muses Angie on her most memorable moment on set. “Funny thing is, it was supposed to be crazy, but it felt like the most natural thing.” Being dressed in an embellished Bottega Veneta suit paired with a custom headdress by milliner Bremen Wong might overpower most, but not for this larger-than-life multi-hyphenate who juggles effortlessly between being a mother, entrepreneur, and jewellery and womenswear designer.

“THE MOST EXUBERANT PERSONALITY COULD BE DRESSED EVEN IN THE CLEANEST, AND SIMPLEST OF LINES.” – ANGIE LAI-TAY
