IN CONVERSATION WITH… ALIA GOGI

The managing director of Sephora Southeast Asia walks us through the biggest Beauty Playground.

-

Why was Malaysia chosen as the ideal destination for Sephora SEA’s latest expansion? Beauty is exploding in Asia, and Malaysian consumers are trading up. Having a very strong mobile presence here has also really made us tremendously successful in the market, and we’re continuously moving towards engaging with younger consumers with the addition of the Sephora Lounge and The Studio at the Fahrenheit88 store.

How will the Sephora Fahrenheit88 outlet stand out among the rest? This two-floor space will carry eight exclusive brands, including Tatcha and Drunk Elephant’s offline debut in Malaysia, as well as a members-only lounge for our loyal Gold Members. Besides providing a bespoke beauty experience with an in-house personal shopper, the region’s first Perk Treatment by Hydrafacial & Perk Lips is an added service available only at this flagship store.

What are your predictions for the future of Sephora? We’re seeing a lot less differences between each other, so I think there will be a lot more inclusivity within the industry and Sephora will continue to champion that movement. From extensive colour range availability in our make-up category to embracing the clean beauty direction the industry is moving towards, we want to be the brand that grows with the current times.
