Cartier redesigns their dedicated watchmaking website to better connect and engage with their audiences in the digital world.
The absence of a physical exhibition space is only fueling brands to be more creative with their presentations throughout Watches & Wonders this year, the largest online event for timepieces thus far. To better showcase their 2021 novelties all year round, Cartier has improved their existing digital platform, Cartier Watchmaking Encounters, to better engage with their commnunity of collectors and visitors.
Cartier Watchmaking Encounters is the Maison’s international website dedicated to their new watch collections. Launched in April of 2020, the site’s new upgrade includes a redesign that aims to offer the actual physical fair experience of wandering around a Watches & Wonders showcase space. It’s also reflective of Cartier’s “the culture of design” campaign this year, inspired by the Maison’s constant quest for the perfect form based on the purity of the line, the accuracy of the shape, the precision of proportions and the precious details.
The website displays different categories to explore—such as Collectors, Innovation, Precious Jewellery Watches, Pasha De Cartier, Tank and Ballo Bleu De Cartier—on separate plinths, inviting the visitor to decide on where they’d like to start their exploration with just a slide and click of one’s finger.
Among the content waiting to be discovered are the Tank Must, a new sought-after watch directly inspired from the Tank Louis Cartier first created in 1922; the The Cloche Watch, a rare piece born in 1920, that makes its debut in Cartier Privé; and a special showcase on the Ballon Bleu with a new feature that allows for interchangebale straps.
“More than ever, the current context calls for digital experiences allowing us to tell the story of our new watchmaking creations to all our audiences,” says Arnaud Carrez, Marketing and Communication Director at Cartier International. “At a time when preserving our interactions with them is extremely important to us, Cartier Watchmaking Encounters also enables us to go beyond our new collections and further share how rich and diverse our watchmaking ecosystem is, by regrouping all facets of Cartier’s watchmaking style and spirit. We very much look forward to embarking our visitors on this comprehensive journey.” Visit www.cartierwatchmakingencounters.com to start your own experiential tour with Cartier.
