Put your best foot forward as spring transitions into summer, bringing with it a sense of liberation and optimism. Life in quarantine has shown a surge in skincare products as we collectively realise the necessity for some self-care in the comforts of our own homes; but as the social scene in some parts of the world begin to thrive again, we are now experiencing a positive return to glam make-up. Fittingly, the Hot 100 BAZAAR Beauty Awards return this issue to help you with your decision for that next beauty purchase (pgs. 48-79). The prolonged periods of introspection we’ve experienced has also influenced our outlook on beauty products: we don’t just want make-up that makes us pretty, we demand for something with greater value and a positive message (pg. 40). That said, no make-up in the world can make up for lack of sleep, so be sure to allow your body the right amount of rest to ensure a much needed sense of rejuvenation and refreshed state of mind (pg. 80) in these challenging times. Summer also calls to mind open fields and pastoral prints (pgs. 118-127). Our cover star, Keira Knightley, wanders through Suffolk’s Wilderness Reserve as she shares her personal experience on living in lockdown (pgs. 108117).
