A SEA CREATURE
It might not look like a high-tech chair, but the Manta by Italian designer Robby Cantarutti for Mast Element’s Mast 3.0 collection is made from the same material as a high-performance F1 racecar: carbon fibre. Super light, yet with a resistance greater than that of steel, carbon fibre opens furniture design to exciting new possibilities. The Manta’s seamless, sensuous form takes its cue from the graceful movement of the sea creature, with a super-thin profile and delicate fins to match. Make no mistake, however, as the chair can support weights of more than 100kg.
