When buying chairs for your table, you’ll want to make sure they’re appropriately-sized. Take down some measurements if you’re buying the pieces separately, and make sure your purchases can be returned or exchanged if you’re uncertain. Long, rectangular tables can take sterner, and more ornate chairs at the heads, whilst those along the sides may be less ostentatious, and less large. On mixing and matching dining chairs, feel free to use a long stool for one side of a rectangular table, and a combination of backed chairs and stools for the other sides.
