Bed and breakfast

Home & Decor (Malaysia) - - Editor’s Note - EMMELYN CINDY MAH EDITOR

I’ve grappled a lot with the concept of breakfast, and I’m not going to lie – most days, I can’t be bothered with more than a banana with my nonnegotiable coffee. Still, it’s a well-known fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It’s how one ‘breaks their fast’ of the night, and it’s subsequently how one kickstarts the system for the day, lending strength and energy with which to combat the onslaught of chores and work.

A quick smoothie or a slice of toast notwithstanding, the ultimate kingpin of breakfast foods has got to be pancakes. Thankfully, a good pancake doesn’t need to be made fresh; I’ve shared here three of my personal favourite recipes, and they’re great for make-ahead breakfasts if you’re so inclined. Turn to page 102 to get cooking, and get snuggling – because let’s face it: the best breakfasts are breakfasts in bed.

On that, we’re celebrating Spring with a fantastic feature on beds! From our favourite bedroom furnishings and accessories in Pantone’s Spring colours to our picks for bedding and beds, we’ve got you covered. Check out the feature, which starts on page 38! And to keep your homes and bedrooms snug and cool, check out our story on how to keep cool with lower costs – both for Mother Earth and for the good of your wallet. Turn to page 32 to see how!

As always, we’ve got a great selection of homes for your perusal. I hope you’ll find inspiration and joy in them.

Have a great May ahead, and to all mothers – my own amazing, strong, and muchbeloved mother included – Happy Mother’s Day!
