Cassina was founded in 1927 by Ce­sare and Um­berto Cassina, and has since made a name as a fur­ni­ture man­u­fac­turer in col­lab­o­ra­tions with de­sign­ers and ar­chi­tects like Le Cor­bus­ier, Pierre Jean­neret, and Char­lotte Per­riand. The brand con­tin­ues to work closely with es­tab­lished de­sign­ers like Jaime Hayon.

3. De­signed for users to lounge com­fort­ably, the 570 Gen­der arm­chair by Pa­tri­cia Urquiola (2016) is high backed, with a soft-padded in­ner up­hol­stery that tilts 12 de­grees back­wards. The 570 Gen­der Arm­chair also fea­tures a uniquely-coloured leather edg­ing which brings an in­ter­est­ing streak of colour to the arm­chair. There are five dif­fer­ent colour com­bi­na­tions to choose from.

2. Cassina rein­ter­preted the de­sign of the 675 Mar­alunga Di­vano sofa by Vico Mag­istretti (1973) for their 40th an­niver­sary. The newer edi­tion fea­tures dis­tinct pro­file stitch­ing and is also up­hol­stered in re­mov­able fab­ric or leather.

1. De­signed a year af­ter Cassina was founded, the LC2 Poltrona arm­chair by Le Cor­bosier, Pierre Jean­neret, and Char­lotte Per­riand (1928) was ex­hib­ited at the Sa­lon d’Au­tomne in Paris in the year 1929 and was only pro­duced ex­clu­sively in 1965.
