Home & Decor (Malaysia) - - EDITOR’S NOTE - EMMELYN CINDY MAH EDITOR

I’ll come right out and say it: I love a dark space. And I don’t necessarily mean a space devoid of sunlight – I mean a space decked out in sleek and modern hues, darker shades that speak of sophistication and adulthood. Think stained rosewood countertops and dark-painted walls, high-quality cabinetry and exquisite craftsmanship – classy, elegant, and absolutely beautiful.

All this plays wonderfully into the new ‘last word’ where design is concerned. Dark kitchens are the new darlings of interior design, and why shouldn’t they be? From sleek fixtures to the beautiful combination of darker shades and steel, dark kitchens are where it’s at. Check out the style on page 40, and follow it up with fixtures and appliances on page 48. Also turn to page 56 to read up on 10 considerations you absolutely need if you’re about to refurbish your kitchen!

While we’re in the kitchen, allow me to share with you five of my absolutely favourite recipes for one-pot pastas, the perfect balm for days you just need to hit the kitchen running. With a little bit of prepwork and just a few basic ingredients, you’ll be having dinner on the table in eight to ten minutes flat! Turn to page 90 to learn how!

As always, we have a selection of gorgeous homes with which to motivate your next home decorating and renovating endeavour. We hope you’ll enjoy them, and take inspiration from them!

Have a great March, and to all my ladies out there – Happy International Women’s Day!
