Home & Decor (Malaysia) - - EDITOR’S NOTE - Emmelyn Cindy Mah EDITOR

The world is changing. This isn’t by any means a new revelation – indeed, the world is always changing, and in the endless pursuit of modernisation and progress, Industry has seen to it that we grow ever aware. In the impermanence of our world, we come to realise that there is more to protect than meets the eye. As it stands, Green Initiatives, Sustainable Building and Living, and Preservation have become the buzz words of the day.

And what a time it is to remember that we only have one Earth to protect!

Doing their part for the betterment of our building, designing, and architecture industry, many of these designers need no introduction. Their work has garnered plenty of attention, and I can hardly think of any collective of people more worthy to champion the cause of sustainability and accountability. These are the folk who believe that in order to live in our world, we must live in our world. Building around nature, rather than cutting down everything in the path of aesthetics and design; learning to bring in the green, and learning how to cultivate a life that is at once zen, measured, and good to Mother Nature.

So as it turns out, Designers don’t merely design our spaces these days; they design the lives in which we must all live better, and be better. We present to you nine such names and firms, and hope you take inspiration from them all for all your coming renovations and redecoration endeavours!

Have a happy December!
