Builders, a term Ama­zon Web Ser­vices (AWS) af­fec­tion­ately coined to de­scribe do­ers, dream­ers, mak­ers, and in­no­va­tors of today’s star­tups and en­ter­prises, is one that you con­stantly hear com­ing from both AWS CEO Andy Jassy and Ama­zon CTO Dr. Werner Vo­gels. The 2017 edi­tion of the an­nual AWS re:In­vent con­fer­ence drew par­al­lels be­tween builders and mu­si­cians, push­ing bound­aries and chang­ing the world with their tools and in­stru­ments, re­spec­tively.

In fact, iconic songs from artists such as Eric Clap­ton, Lau­ryn Hill, and Tom Petty were per­formed on stage by the AWS house band be­fore ev­ery ma­jor an­nounce­ment and up­date dur­ing the keynote pre­sen­ta­tion. Here are some of the no­table high­lights from re:In­vent 2017.
