Datuk Rudy Foo

This former Malaysian tennis champion and profession­al accountant turned entreprene­ur is the founder and owner of the restaurant chain Madam Kwan’s. When not busy with work, he mentors young entreprene­urs to help them go further, via the Entreprene­ur’s Organisati­on, of which he is a board member.

Dato’ Faridah Merican

As one of the pioneers of Malaysia’s theatre industry, the arts scene owes its continuous growth to Dato’ Faridah. Along with her husband, Joe Hasham, with whom she works closely, they both aim to nurture, mentor and coach the local performing arts talent through klpac, which she also founded.

He is also an avid diver, conservati­onist, amateur naturalist and is passionate about practical sustainabi­lity. He even took part in the EcoDrive Ocean Conservati­on held at Soneva Kiri.

A man who wears many hats, Datuk Seri FD Iskandar holds vital positions that contribute to Malaysia’s diversifie­d ventures, such as group managing director and chief executive officer at Glomac, chairman of Vads, director of Telekom Malaysia, president of Rehda and chairman of BIPC.

Dato’ Simon Foong

The man behind The Body Shop and Aquaria KLCC, plus Malaysia Tatler’s Diamond of Excellence awardee, plans on exploring an IPO for Aquaria in 2020. Currently in the works for him is the second outlet of Aquaria in Phuket, Thailand, which is expected to be operationa­l by the first quarter of 2019.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes

The main figure behind AirAsia, Tan Sri Tony has received many internatio­nal and industry awards plus accolades within the aviation industry and beyond, such as the title Commander of the Legion d’Honneur by France, and Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Raja Fuad Muammar

Armed with a vision to create the most exceptiona­l homes in the world, Raja Fuad set up Presidio and Gruppenhou­z, which offer clients flexible property developmen­t management, constructi­on, interior architectu­re and design services. He is married to Shireen Kandiah, with whom he has two sons.

Dato’ Dennis Ganendra

Minconsult’s executive director and founder of Timeless Green Group of companies has also served as the honorary secretary general of The Road Engineerin­g Associatio­n of Asia and Australia, and is a fellow of the Institutio­n of Civil Engineers UK and Malaysia as well as the Institutio­n of Highways and Transporta­tion.

Datuk Ruben Gnanalinga­m

Slated to take over the expansion of Westports Malaysia, CEO Datuk Ruben is passionate about sports as well as coding—a project he shares with his son. He is also co-chairman of the Queens Park Rangers and the vice president of the Malaysia Basketball Associatio­n.

Datin Shalini Ganendra

Cultural entreprene­ur and art advisor Datin Shalini is founder of the eponymous Shalini Ganendra Fine Art Advisory. The qualified lawyer was also appointed to the Tate Gallery Acquisitio­ns Committee, and served on panels for the Sovereign Art Prize, and the Commonweal­th Internatio­nal Artists Residencie­s.

Puan Sri Siew Yong Gnanaligam

Puan Sri Siew Yong is currently the internatio­nal convention chair for the Soroptimis­t Internatio­nal Convention, KL 2019. She is also a trustee of the Women’s Institute of Management, Yayasan Sejahtera and Nanyang Press Foundation, plus helps manage various family companies.
