Halfway through their life journey, Chrystella Chai and Tristan Soh decided to give a new name to their relationship as they joined hands in a sacred bond of love

Apure love story about two souls finding each other and deciding to spend the rest of their lives together: Chrystella and Tristan first met when they were only 15 years old. It was, indeed, love at first sight for the two, who, since then, have never been separated from each other, and who have spent more time with one another, than being alone.

Both now 29, she a practising dentist in Melbourne, Australia, and he a global business manager and investor for three venture capital backed businesses in the UK, they knew it was time to take their relationship into a new phase. They first met 14 years ago at the Sabah Golf & Country Club through mutual friends. That magical day brought the two closer together, and made their union possible. After years of juggling between two completely different continents (Europe and Oceania), Chrystella and Tristan managed to strengthen their relationship even more.

Tristan proposed to Chrystella in Paris while she was visiting him in the UK. He made sure that the whole moment was

romantic and unforgettable as he organised a trip to the Palace of Versailles, taking care of every single detail. “For once he was very clued up on where to visit in Paris, as the norm was usually me doing all the planning,” said Chrystella while sharing this magical memory with us.

It was right at that moment, in a quiet room at the Palace of Versailles, that he went down on one knee, looked her straight in the eyes that went through her very soul, and these words were spoken: “Would you marry me?” The answer was instant, and a year and a half later the two were united in holy matrimony in front of parents, relatives and friends. The ceremony was incredibly unique, featuring every single detail that every woman would wish to have in her wedding. First was the tea ceremony,

followed by the sunset solemnisation, and finally the dinner reception. During the tea ceremony Tristan and his groomsmen were dressed in traditional Chinese attire as they picked up the bride and her bridesmaids in an elegant Porsche 964. Not to mention the incredible solemnisation ceremony that was held at the Shangri-la’s Rasa Ria Resort in Kota Kinabalu, where the two young lovers exchanged their vows.

Finally on December 27, Tristan and Chrystella were officially declared husband and wife in front of 450 guests, most of whom flew in for the wedding. The dinner was an absolute dream, featuring amazing decorations, excellent food, and a joyful atmosphere. Later in the night, the grand ballroom was turned into a place where the guests danced and enjoyed themselves to the delight of the newlyweds.
